Get permission to open a Google Form

If you try to open a Google Form and you get a "You need access” message, it could be because:

Your access to open a form depends on the sharing settings selected by the form creator. If the form’s creator uses Google apps for work or school, they might need to share with your specific group so that you can access it.

  1. On your computer, open the file.
  2. On the "You need access" page, click Request access.
  3. Check for an email that says the owner of the file granted you access.

Sign in to open a form

Make sure you sign in to the correct account. Unless the creator changes the settings, forms created through work or school accounts are only accessible to people within the organization.

  1. Go to myaccount.google.com.
  2. At the top right, select your Profile image.
  3. In the menu, select your Google Account for work or school.
  4. Click Sign in.
    1. If it’s your first time to access the account from a device, click Add another account.
    2. Enter your email address and password.
  5. To check if you have access to the form, after you sign in, try its link again.
