Use building blocks in Google Slides

In a presentation in Google Slides, you can use building blocks to quickly add a formatted piece of content like:

  • Headlines
  • Text callouts
  • Calls to action

Insert building blocks in Slides

A building block is a formatted piece of content, like agendas, quotes, or key statistics. You can use it to create professional visual presentations. Each building block is composed of different Slides content types that you can change after you insert it in your slide.

  1. On your computer, open a presentation in Google Slides.
  2. At the top, click Insert and then Building blocks .
  3. Select or drag the building block you want to add to the slide.
  4. To find more options, select a building block type.
  5. On a slide, in a building block, you can:
    • Move the building block.
    • Remove shapes or text.
    • Revise text.

Tip: To ungroup elements of a building block before you move or remove individual shapes or text:

  1. Right-click the image.
  2. Click Ungroup.
