Web media

Anyone can find media on the web, but usage rights come into play if you're looking for content that you can take and use above and beyond fair use. Site owners can use licences to indicate if and how others can reuse content on their sites.

Only selected media that you have confirmed you can use in your intended context according to the licence details can be used. Your use of selected media must comply with our abuse programme policies. Include appropriate attribution if necessary.

  • Before reusing media that you've found, you should verify that your use is permitted and check the exact terms of reuse stated in the licence.
  • For example, most licences require that you give credit to the media creator when reusing media.
  • Google has no way of knowing whether your use is permitted, so we aren't making any representation that the content is actually lawfully licensed.

Stock media

Stock media, such as images, video and audio, can be used for personal, education or commercial purposes, and must be used in accordance with our abuse programme policies and our Google Workspace Acceptable Use Policy. Stock media is made available for use in Google Workspace products. Stock media cannot be publicly displayed and distributed on a standalone basis. Stock media may not be offered for sale or used within templates provided to third parties. Stock media may not be incorporated into a logo, corporate ID, trademark or service mark. You may not use stock media featuring a person in an unflattering or unduly controversial way.
