The option to remove image backgrounds is rolling out gradually and may not be available to you yet.
Remove an image's background
Important: Vids generative AI features, like 'help me create' and image background removal, are only available in English at this time
- Click an image in a drawing in Google Drawings, a slide in Google Slides or a scene's canvas in Google Vids.
- Click Edit image
Remove background.
- You can also remove the background from the Format menu: At the top, click Format

Tip: Images with removed backgrounds can't be reset with Reset image. To go back to the original photo, click Undo or go to 'Version history'.
