Link a Display & Video 360 account to Merchant Center

Advertisers can manage Google Merchant Center account links in Display & Video 360. Link your Display & Video 360 account and a Merchant Center account to create Shopping campaigns and more. After you link the accounts, you'll be able to utilize product information from Merchant Center.


Link a Merchant Center account to Display & Video 360

Before you create a product feed, you need to link your Display & Video 360 advertiser to the Merchant Center account that has products you want to include in ads.

To link accounts for product feeds:

  1. From your advertiser, expand Advertiser settings and click Linked accounts. Instructions that include an account ID used by Display & Video 360 for Merchant Center will be displayed.
  2. Send the account ID to your Merchant Center account administrator and have them link to it from the Account Linking > Display and Video 360 section of Merchant Center. Learn more about Linking Merchant Center and Display & Video 360.
  3. Follow the steps below to accept the link request.

Accept a Google Merchant Center retailer account link request

If you have a pending Google Merchant Center retailer account link request, you’ll get an alert in the Linked accounts interface of your Display & Video 360 advertiser account.

To accept the account link request:

  1. Open your advertiser account and click on Advertiser settings, then Linked accounts.
  2. In the “Merchant Center accounts (YouTube)” section, click on the pencil icon.
  3. Under Needs approval, hover over the status and select View request to review the account link request.
  4. Review the data sharing policies, then click Approve.

After these steps are completed, the linked Merchant Center account will be listed in your Display & Video 360 advertiser’s Linked accounts section.


Unlink Google Merchant Center and Display & Video 360

A Google Merchant Center account link can’t be edited after it’s been accepted in Display & Video 360. If changes are needed, retailers and advertisers will need to unlink the Google Merchant Center and Display & Video 360 accounts. They can then create and accept a new account link. To unlink Google Merchant Center and Display & Video 360 accounts:

For retailers

  1. In your Google Merchant Center account, click the Settings & tools icon.
  2. Select Apps and services.
  3. In the Google services section, select the existing Display & Video 360 advertiser account you want to unlink.
  4. Click Remove access.

For advertisers

  1. Open your advertiser account and click on Advertiser settings, then Linked accounts.
  2. In the “Merchant Center accounts (YouTube)” section, click on the pencil icon.
  3. Locate the Google Merchant Center account link you want to remove, and click Unlink.
  4. Click Unlink.

Data sharing

When you connect your Display & Video 360 Account to Merchant Center, some of your data is shared between them.

Data shared from Merchant Center

  • The name and ID of your Merchant Center account
  • Product titles, descriptions, and images that show on Google Search and Maps

Data shared from Display & Video 360

  • The name and account ID for your Google Ads account
  • Clicks and conversions from your campaigns, ads, and ad groups
