The Google TV Streamer (4K) and Chromecast with Google TV can help you locate your Google TV Streamer Voice Remote with the Find My Remote feature.
Your Voice Remote needs to be paired with your Google TV Streamer or Chromecast with Google TV to use Find My Remote. Learn how to set up Google TV Streamer and Voice Remote.
Important: To use the Find My Remote feature with Chromecast with Google TV, you must use your voice assistant or the Google Home app.
To use Find My Remote, you can:
- For Google TV Streamer: Press the button on the back of Google TV Streamer.
- Use voice commands with your voice assistant.
- Use the Google Home app on your mobile device.
- Go to "All Settings" on your Google TV.
- Tip: This option is only available if you’re using an alternate or virtual remote.
Important: This setting only works with the Google TV Remote.
Press the button on the back of your Google TV Streamer briefly. Your Google TV Remote will play a sound for 30 seconds. A prompt that says “Playing sound for 30 sec” should also appear on your TV. To stop the sound, press any button on your remote.
Find My Remote is also available with your voice assistant-enabled devices such as speakers, smart displays, and wearables.
- Make sure you are within range of your voice assistant-enabled devices.
- To start Find My Remote you can say:
- “Hey Google, where’s my remote?”
- “Hey Google, Find My Remote?”
- “Hey Google, locate my remote?”
- Your voice assistant-enabled device will respond with “OK, your remote will ring for 30 seconds, starting now.” to confirm.
- Your remote will play a sound.
- Once you find your remote, press any button on it to stop the sound.
- Go to the room where the TV is set up.
- On your phone or tablet, open the Google Home app

- Tap Home
All devices
.
- Select the TV.
- Tap Settings
Find my remote
Play sound to play a sound on your remote for 30 seconds.
Tip: If you have an Android device, you can tap Find my remote
Play sound.
- To stop the sound, tap Cancel in the app.
Or, any button on your Voice Remote once found.
If you have a physical or in-app remote aside from the Voice Remote, you can use Find My Remote on your Google TV.
- From the Google TV home screen, select All settings

- Select Remote Accessories

Play sound to play a chime on your Voice Remote for 30 seconds.
- To stop the sound, press any button on your Voice Remote once found.
