Mouse locks momentarily when starting Chrome or Edge and am logged into Google Workspace.

In both Chrome and Edge, if I am logged into my Google Workspace account, the mouse locks up momentarily as I open the browser. It seems to "catch up" and jumps to where it would be if it were to have kept moving. This does not happen in FireFox.

I determined that if I log out of my Google Workspace account so that icon in the top right is asking me to "Verify your account," then there is no mouse issue when I open the browsers. If I verify my account as requested, close the browser and reopen it, the issue returns.

I would love to be able to return to using Chrome (or Edge) and not have that annoying mouse issue, while not having to log into and out of Google Workspace each time.

Any help appreciated.

A momentary mouse lock when launching Chrome or Edge could be due to various factors, including outdated or corrupted drivers, browser extensions, or system issues. Here's a breakdown of potential causes and solutions:
1. Driver Issues:
  • Outdated or corrupted drivers:
    .Opens in new tab
Update or reinstall your mouse drivers. Right-click the Start button, select "Device Manager," expand "Mice and other pointing devices," right-click your mouse, and select "Update driver" or "Uninstall device" and then restart your computer.
  • Roll back drivers:
    .Opens in new tab
If updating doesn't work, try rolling back to a previous version of the mouse driver from Device Manager.
2. Browser Issues:
  • Browser extensions:
Temporarily disable all browser extensions to see if one is causing the issue.
  • Chrome/Edge settings:
Check the settings of Chrome and Edge to ensure features like hardware acceleration are enabled or disabled as needed.
  • Use Canary/Dev version:
If the issue persists, consider using a Canary or Dev version of Chrome or Edge to see if it resolves the problem.
  • Report the issue:
If you suspect a browser-specific issue, report the problem to the browser developers with relevant details.
3. System Issues:
  • Windows updates: Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date.
  • SFC/DISM scans: Run a System File Checker (SFC) and DISM (Deployment Image Servicing and Management) scan to check for system file corruption.
  • Fast Startup: Disable Fast Startup in Windows power settings.
4. Hardware Issues:

I have completed all but one recommendation from your list. The problem persists.

I have not reported this issue to Google because I do not know how. Any path through help brings me here.

Please take a look at this video to see how I removed the issue and then made it return. Please keep in mind how the mouse jumps/skips any time I load the browser with the Workspace login active. It even skips after I enter my login information to return to the problem.
