You can customise Google Chrome to open any page for the homepage or start-up page. These two pages aren’t the same unless you set them to be.
- Your startup page is the one that is displayed when you first launch Chrome on your device.
- Your homepage is the one that you go to when you select Home
.

Set your start-up page
You can control which page or pages appear when you launch Chrome on your computer.
Have a new tab open- On your computer, open Chrome.
- At the top right, select More
Settings.
- On the left, select On startup
Open the new tab page.

You can tell Chrome to reopen the same pages that you were looking at when you quit.
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- At the top right, select More
Settings.
- On the left, select On startup
Continue where you left off.
Your cookies and data are saved, so any websites that you were logged in to before will open again. If you don't want to be automatically signed in to these pages, follow the steps below:
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- At the top right, select More
Settings.
- On the left, select Privacy and security

Additional content settings.
- Select On-device site data.
- Turn on Delete data sites that have been saved to your device when you close all windows.
You can tell Chrome to open to any web page.
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- At the top right, select More
Settings.
- Under 'On startup', select Open a specific page or set of pages.
- You can either:
- Select Add a new page.
- Enter the web address.
- Select Add.
- Select Use current pages.
- Select Add a new page.
Tip: To update your pages, on the right, select More
Edit or Delete.
Problems with your startup or homepage
If you’re on a computer and you find a homepage or startup page that you didn’t set yourself, your computer may have malware. Learn how to remove unwanted ads, pop-ups and malware.
Important: If you're a Chromebook user and you use it at work or school, you can’t choose or change your startup page or homepage. Your network administrator controls those pages. For more help, contact your administrator.
Choose your homepage
You can control what page appears when you select Home .
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- At the top right, select More

- Under 'Appearance', turn on Show Home button.
- Under 'Show Home button', choose to use the New tab page or a custom page
