Sunsetting support for Windows 7 / 8/8.1 and Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2 in 2023
Update: This post was last updated on May 16, 2023.
Hello Enterprise Community,
As previously stated in the M108 release notes, Chrome 110, tentatively scheduled for release on February 7, is the first version of Chrome which will have a minimum Windows version of Windows 10. Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1 will no longer be supported.
Chrome running on Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2 (OSes based on Windows 8/8.1) will also not be updated beyond Chrome 109. However, to ease customer transitions, Critical security fixes and fixes for bugs where Google is aware of exploits in the wild will be issued to Chrome 109 on these two OS versions until October 10, 2023. You can receive these updates in the following ways:
- Automatically via auto-update
- By downloading the latest MSI: 32 bit 64 bit
Customers should rely on Chrome Enterprise Release Notes to stay informed of upcoming changes in Chrome.
Best,
Rebecca - On behalf of Chrome Enterprise
