Chrome Sign Builder—End of support

Chrome Sign Builder is a Chrome app that lets you schedule and display content across your managed ChromeOS kiosk devices. Support for Chrome apps in kiosk mode is being phased out in stages, meaning that Chrome Sign Builder will be removed from the Chrome Web Store at the end of ChromeOS M150. For details on the end-of-support schedule, see End of support for Chrome apps and the Chrome Enterprise and Education release notes.

Deploy an alternative web app

As an alternative, you have two options for deploying web apps.

Option 1

Comeen, a Chrome Enterprise Recommended Partner, offers a web app that directly replaces Chrome Sign Builder. Contact Comeen to start using their platform and deploy Comeen on ChromeOS kiosk devices.

Option 2

  1. Sign in with an administrator account to the Google Admin console.

If you aren’t using an administrator account, you can’t access the Admin console.

  2. (Optional) To apply the setting to a department or team, at the side, select an organizational unit. Show me how
  3. Point to Add Add and click Add by URL Add by URL.
  4. Enter the URL provided by your provider and click Save.
  5. (Optional) Next to Auto-launch app under Installation policy, click the list and choose the website or PWA that you want to automatically launch. At the top, click Save.

Delete Chrome Sign Builder

Note: If you’ve configured Chrome Sign Builder in your organization, a notification banner displays at the top of the Apps & extensions page in your Admin console, letting you know that Chrome apps will no longer be supported. The banner only displays if at least one Chrome app is force-installed, allowed, or blocked for your entire organization.

Use your Admin console to delete Chrome Sign Builder from your devices.

  1. Sign in with an administrator account to the Google Admin console.

If you aren’t using an administrator account, you can’t access the Admin console.

  2. Go to Menu and then Devices > Chrome > Apps & extensions. The Overview page opens by default.

If you signed up for Chrome Enterprise Core, go to Menu and then Chrome browser > Apps & extensions.

  3. Select the organizational unit or group for which you want to delete Chrome Sign Builder.
  4. In the list of apps, find and click Chrome Sign Builder.

Alternatively, from the notification banner at the top of the page:

    1. Click Review Chrome Apps.
    2. In the list of apps, find and click Chrome Sign Builder.
    3. On the Overview page that opens, click Chrome Sign Builder.
  5. In the panel that opens on the right, click .
  6. To confirm that you want to delete the app for the selected organizational unit or group, click Delete.

When you restart your ChromeOs devices, you’ll notice that Chrome Sign Builder and associated user data have been deleted.
