For administrators who manage Chrome browser for a business or school.
As an admin, you can use your Google Admin console to see details about any Chrome browser crashes that occurred on managed browsers over time.
Chrome browser crash events are available in Chrome log events on the Audit and investigation page. Learn more about Chrome log events and crash events.
Turn on event reporting for browser crash events
Before you can see any of the browser crash events, you must set up the report.
- Turn on crash event reporting.

Sign in with an administrator account to the Google Admin console.
If you aren’t using an administrator account, you can’t access the Admin console.

Go to Menu
Devices > Chrome > Settings. The User & browser settings page opens by default.
Requires having the Mobile Device Management administrator privilege.
If you signed up for Chrome Enterprise Core, go to Menu
Chrome browser > Settings.

(Optional) To apply the setting only to some users and enrolled browsers, at the side, select an organizational unit (often used for departments) or configuration group (advanced). Show me how

- Go to and select Event reporting.
- Do one of the following:
- Select Enable event reporting to turn on all event reporting.
- If you want to turn on only crash event reporting, do the following:
- Select Additional settings.
- Under Default event types, select Customize.
- Check the Browser crash box.
- Click Save.

- Turn on telemetry reporting for crash information on ChromeOS devices:

Go to Menu
Devices > Chrome > Settings > Device settings.
Requires having the Mobile Device Management administrator privilege.
If you signed up for Chrome Enterprise Core, go to Menu
Chrome browser > Settings > Device settings.
- Go to User and device reporting.
- Click Report device telemetry.
- Select Crash Information.
- Click Save.

View the report
Before you begin, to view Chrome crash report data, you have to configure admin privileges for ChromeOS devices:

Sign in with a super administrator account to the Google Admin console.
If you aren’t using a super administrator account, you can’t complete these steps.
- Click the link of the role particular you want to configure.
- Click Privileges.
- Under Admin Console Privileges, scroll to Services

View Reports.
- Check the View Chrome Crash Reports box.
- Click Save.

To view crash report information:

Go to Menu
Chrome browser > Reports > Chrome crash.
Requires having the Chrome administrator privilege.
- (Optional) On the left, select an organizational unit. By default, all Chrome crashes are shown.
Notes:
- If no unique device visits are displayed, check that filters are not applied or choose different organization units.
- For Windows, Mac, and Linux all browser crashes are reported. For ChromeOS, only fatal browser crashes are reported.

Filtering
The browser crash report supports the following types of filtering:
- Major versions of Chrome
- Check the major versions of Chrome at the bottom of the chart
- Minor versions of Chrome
- Device OS platform
- Channels of Chrome
- Timeline
Identify crash variations and trends
You can determine if there's a higher rate of crashes than usual by comparing the current number to the average number of crashes per enrolled browser. To calculate the average, divide the total number of crashes by the total number of enrolled browsers.
Use filters to identify crash variations by looking at specific browser attributes, such as the Chrome browser version.
Crash-related metrics reporting
Crash event reporting enables reporting for all types of crash events. There are multiple types of crash events, and not all crash events affect the end-user experience. To find more information on the type of crash, you can use the CrashID.
Note: You must turn on Metrics reporting to allow Chrome browser to send usage statistics and crash-related data to Google. This allows the browser to collect the CrashID when a crash event is sent to the Admin console.
You can find the CrashID in the Chrome Audit log in the Admin console. Choose one of these options:

At the bottom of the chart, click View audit logs.
In the event log results, you can view a list of browser crash events. To find the CrashID, go to the Report ID column.
Troubleshooting crashes

If needed, report an issue with Chromium. Only report an issue if you can provide more information about the crash. Always include the CrashID.

Report actions
You can view the report information in different ways.
Show table
Shows a table view of the crash events.
View audit logs
Shows all the details about the crash events in the Admin console Chrome Audit log based on the filters you selected. You can use CSV Export to export the crash event data by clicking Export in the Chrome Audit log.
