Your Cameyo operational environment determines the shared responsibility model that applies. The shared responsibility model determines the tasks that you are responsible for and the tasks Google will undertake to ensure security and performance.
Cameyo supports two operational environments:
- Bring-your-own (BYO)
- Self-hosted
BYO (Bring Your Own) Cloud environment
BYO (Bring Your Own) Cloud refers to customers deploying Cameyo within their own Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Microsoft Azure environment. For more information, see Set up BYO-GCP or Set up BYO-Azure .
Responsibilities
As admins, customers have the following responsibilities:
- Making the cloud infrastructure—hosted on the BYO cloud platform—available for the deployment of Cameyo and Virtual Applications. Responsibilities include all associated infrastructure and software running on it.
- Deploying apps to the managed infrastructure and letting users access these apps through the Cameyo User Portal.
- Managing all software—including the OS—running on these Virtual Machines (VMs). Responsibilities include updates, patches, and any security challenges posed by this software.
Google is responsible for the deploying, upscaling and downscaling of VMs and other resources within the customers' own cloud environment, with their permission.
Self-hosted environment
With a Self-hosted environment, customers are responsible for providing and managing their own cloud or on-premises infrastructure. For more information, see Set up a self-hosted server.
Responsibilities
As admins, customers have the following responsibilities:
- Making any infrastructure—Cloud, On-Premise, or Hybrid—available for the deployment of Cameyo and Virtual Applications.
- Deploying Cameyo’s agent on this infrastructure to connect customer-selected VMs with the Cameyo User Portal to make sure Virtual Applications can be delivered.
