What you need to get started

  • On-premise server hardware or a third-party cloud server subscription.
  • An up-to-date Windows Server 2019, or later, with at least 2 CPUs and 8GB of RAM.

Note: Windows Server 2025 is not yet supported.

    1. Open the Cameyo Admin console.

    2. From the Dashboard, click Add a Server.

    3. Click Self-hosted > Generate an installation token, which can be used to enroll your new server. This token is valid one time for 10 minutes from generation.

  7. Click Reboot.

  4. Publish the app using the publishing wizard.
  5. Select the toggle box next to your new app.
  6. Click Apply.

3. (Optional) Measure and adjust capacity

For testing and capacity planning, you can observe your server's activity in real time by connecting to it as an admin and launching the Task Manager > Users from the Windows desktop.

(Advanced) For more detailed monitoring, use the Event Viewer:

  1. On your server, open the Event Viewer (eventvwr.msc)
  2. Go to Applications and Services Logs -> Microsoft -> Windows -> TerminalServices-LocalSessionManager.
  3. Open Admin or Operational to see the sessions list, displayed with Date/Timestamp/IP/UserName..
  4. Alternatively, navigate to Applications and Services Logs\Microsoft\Windows\TerminalServices-RemoteConnectionManager.

Hardware capacity

Hardware capacity depends on the application that needs to run on the server. It can start from 1 CPU per 12 concurrent users and 2 GB RAM per user for lightweight apps, all the way up to multiple CPUs per session. You can estimate the required capacity for your app by connecting to a server as an admin while several app sessions are being used on it, and looking at the Task Manager's Users tab.

Reinstall Cameyo on a deleted server

To install Cameyo on a server that already had Cameyo installed on it, but had been deleted from the Cameyo Admin console, follow these steps:

  1. On the server, go to C:\RemoteAppPilot\Settings and delete or rename Settings.xml and sk.dat.
  2. Re-run the Cameyo installer and go through a regular registration.
