Family calendar missing
I've just created a family link for myself, my wife and my daughter.
However, I now cannot see the family calendar in the Google calendar app - but my wife can.
I cannot create family events, but my wife can.
Nothing I do fixes it, and there is old posts about this exact issue (which are now locked with no resolution).
Come on Google, this cannot be that difficult to fix!

This is an ongoing issue that has been reported to Google. The steps below sometimes allow users to add the calendar to their account if it's not there automatically. These steps did not work for me initially, but when I tried it again a while later it did.
First, from an account that has access to the family calendar, go to settings for that calendar, scroll down to Integrate Calendar
Method 1- Public URL
1. Copy the public URL, https://calendar.google.com/calendar/embed?src=family######%40group.calendar.google.com&ctz=America%2FNew_York (where ##### is a unique ID for your family group, CTZ will be your local timezone)
2. In the account that does not have the calendar, click the + next to Other Calendars and select Public URL
3. Paste the URL from step 1
Method 2- Calendar ID
1. Copy the calendar ID, family#####@group.calendar.google.com (where ##### is a unique ID for your family group)
2. In the account that does not have the calendar, click the + next to Other Calendars and select "subscribe to calendar"
3. Paste the Google group email address from step 1.
Hopefully this helps some people! This is an open issue with Google and I will share any updates I receive.

My issue was similar: The family calendar was visible to 4 out of 5 family members with no solution other than to manually add the calendar ID within calendar settings of the person who didn't have access. Unlike some who posted above, I did not need to create a "new" google account in order for this to work. The solution gives the person access to the family calendar but it shows up in the "other calendar" section rather than "my calendars."
Here are the steps (as some have mentioned above, but without creating a fake account)
1. Using a computer, go to the calendar of a family member who does have access to the family calendar.
- Go to settings
- On the left-hand side, scroll down to "settings for my calendar" and click on "family"
- On the right-hand side, scroll down to "integrate calendar"
- Copy the calendar ID (it looks like an email address)
2. Log into the calendar of the account which does not have access to the family calendar
- Go to settings
- on the left hand side, click on add calendar > subscribe to calendar
- paste or enter the address
The family member should now have access to the family calendar.

On the desktop calendar app, open settings and click on any calendar. Scroll down to "Integrate Calendar" section and click on the "Customise" button. This opens a new chrome tab showing a different representation of all your open calendars.
On the left hand side menu (at the bottom) untick all open calendars except "Family" (or the calendar you want to move from "Other calendars" to "My calendars")
Click on the "copy" button at the top right of the page to copy the "embed code"
Return to the tab showing Calendar settings and click on "Add Calendar"
Click on "Subscribe to Calendar" and paste in the "embed code" copiied from the previous tab into the "Add Calendar" box and hit return.
You should now find that the "Family" calendar (or whatever calendar you are trying to move) has moved from "Other Calendars" to "My Calendars".
I hope this helps.
Neil.
