Creative lab is an AI-powered tool within Business Home that analyzes your existing Business Profile, brand styles, and images to enable you to easily generate ready-to-use social updates, seasonal promotions, and enhanced visual assets.
You use these to maintain a consistent brand presence and engage your audience:
- Generate diverse content ideas tailored to your business.
- Create visuals without requiring specialized design expertise or external tools.
- Streamline marketing efforts and save time and resources.
Important:
- Business Home is currently a closed beta experience, available only to select business categories and locales, and certain features may not be available to all businesses.
- In addition to the Google Terms of Service, you must comply with our Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy.
Access Creative lab in Business Home beta
- Go to your Business Home.
- On the side panel, select Creative lab
.
- In the “Creative lab” window:
- To turn a single image into a collection of high quality photos, select Start a photo shoot.
- To create variations of an image while maintaining the original’s style, select Create variations.
- To enhance or change the background of an image, select Select an image.
- All uploaded media, images sourced from your linked profiles, and assets generated in Creative lab can be found in the “Your creative assets” section.
How to start a photo shoot
The photo shoot feature lets you generate multiple, high-quality variations, style angles, and setups from just a single original image.
- Go to your Business Home .
- On the side panel, select Creative lab
Start a photo shoot.
- Select or upload the image you want to use. Make sure it meets these requirements:
- Format: JPG, PNG, or WEBP
- Minimum resolution: 200 px tall, 200 px wide
- For use in Business Profile posts: 250 px tall, 250 px wide and at least 10 KB
- Select Start photo shoot.
- Creative lab generates several different style options featuring your original image, such as a studio shot, close-up detail, or model shot.
How to create variations of an image
With the variations feature, you can show products from multiple angles while maintaining the original image’s style, lighting, and mood.
- Go to your Business Home.
- On the side panel, select Creative lab
Create variations.
- Select or upload the image you want to use. Make sure it meets these requirements:
- Format: JPG, PNG, or WEBP
- Minimum resolution: 200 px tall, 200 px wide
- For use in Business Profile posts: 250 px tall, 250 px wide and at least 10 KB
- Select Generate images.
- Creative lab generates several unique versions of your original image with subtle layout changes, such as a different product angle, a close-up detail shot, or an image of the item being held.
Use your Creative lab images
Once your images are generated, you can enhance, download, or start a post with your new assets.
Edit your images
- To create additional variations with a similar style, select More like this
.
- To turn the asset into a full collection of different style angles, select Create photo shoot
.
- To enhance the image quality, select Increase resolution
.
- To remove the background so only the main subject remains, select Remove background
.
- To make custom edits, in the text box, type your requested changes and press Enter.
- For example, "change the background to a marble countertop.”
Download your images
- To save all generated variations at once, select
Download all.
- To save an individual version, select the individual image and click
Download.
Start a post
- To begin creating a post, select
Start a post
select the image you want to use
select Add image to post.
- Add info to your post.
- When you’re ready to publish, select
Post.
Manage or delete your creative assets
Images in the “Your creative assets” section are sourced from your website, Business Profile and those created in Business Home.
To edit or remove these assets, update them through your Business Profile. Learn how to manage your Business Profile photos & videos.
