Request removal of a Business Profile from Google Search & Maps

Accurate business info on Search and Maps is important for both businesses and customers. If you find a Business Profile on Google that seems inaccurate or ineligible, you can request its removal.

You can request a business to be removed, even if you don’t own the Business Profile. A business can be removed from Google if it never existed or isn’t eligible to be on Google. Learn more about Business Profile eligibility guidelines.

Remove a business from Google Maps

Important: To request a removal, you must be signed into your Google Account.

  1. Go to Google Maps or open the Google Maps app Maps.
  2. On the map, select the business you want to remove.
  3. Click Suggest an edit and then Place is closed or not here.
  4. Select the appropriate option.
    • Examples: “Doesn’t exist here” or “Offensive, harmful, or misleading”
  5. Click Submit.

After you submit the request, you might receive a status email with follow-up questions. If the request is approved, the business will be removed from Search and Maps.

Report a business that violates policies

To report incorrect info or fraudulent activity on Maps related to the name, phone number, or website of a business, fill out the business redressal complaint form.
