To give users complete and up-to-date info about businesses, Google displays brand profiles on Google Search.
Info on brand profiles comes from different sources:
- From the business:
- Products, promotions, shipping details, and social media that the business manages in their Google Merchant Center account.
- Brand descriptions and images that a business can manage with Google Search or Merchant Center after claiming their brand profile.
- Publicly available information: This info includes details from the business’ official website and other credible websites that mention the business. It can include business names, images, and videos.
- Licensed data: Info, like store rating and trust score, that Google gets from third-party sources.
- User contributions: Suggested edits and updates provided by users.
- AI-generated descriptions: In some cases, AI can use the business' website to create a summary.
