To ensure security of your phone and your personal data, we recommend that you install apps from verified developers. For users that are comfortable accepting the risk of installing software from unverified developers, you can do so by enabling the following setting on your device.
Important: This one-time process will take 24 hours to complete and includes safeguards to make sure you are making an informed, independent decision before turning off protections.
- Turn on Android developer settings.
- Important: Make sure you fully understand the risks and want to proceed with this choice. Scammers often pose as bank fraud agents, technical support, or delivery services and ask you to download inauthentic apps. When in doubt, contact the organization using a verified helpline or official website.
- Allow apps from unverified developers.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap System

- Turn on Allow apps from unverified developers.
- Follow the instructions to enable app installs. This will include a 24-hour security delay.
- After the security delay is complete, you can choose whether to keep the advanced flow on for seven days or indefinitely.
- Proceed to install the app.
- You will still get a warning when you try to install an app from an unverified developer. To confirm that you wish to install the app, tap Install anyway.
