Business objectives are common business goals, such as to generate leads, drive sales, increase consideration, and understand user engagement. In Google Analytics, when you choose a business objective, you’ll be able to get personalized content to support the outcomes you want.

Activate business objectives
You can activate business objectives by selecting them during the property creation process. Each business objective is associated with a collection of reports designed to help you manage related data in order to achieve your goals. There are suggested audiences for each objective designed to help you meet that goal. Your business specific needs can be customized with the help of a template, provided by suggested audiences. Additional personalized configurations and recommendations such as recommended and key events, can be activated for each business objective.
Configure business objectives
You can configure business objectives after you’ve created your property:
- In Admin, under Property, select Property details.
Note: The previous link opens to the last Analytics property you accessed. You must be signed in to a Google Account to open the property. You can change the property using the property selector. You must be an Editor or above to configure your business objectives.
- Select the applicable business goals in the “Business objectives (required)” field:
- Generate leads
- Drive sales
- Understand web and/or app traffic
- View user engagement & retention
- Other business objectives
- Click Save.
Edit business objectives
You can make the following changes to your business objectives at any time without impacting your existing enablements and data:
- Deactivate or reactivate automatically enabled features
- Change from one business objective to another
If you don’t have any specific business objectives, you can set them to Other business objectives.
