Generated insights

Generated insights on the Home page

Generated insights on the Google Analytics Home page provides a concise, AI-generated overview of the most critical changes to your data since your last visit. Designed to improve data discoverability, this feature highlights key developments such as completed Google Ads or Search Console integrations, significant traffic anomalies, and seasonality changes. By surfacing these updates on the Home page, the feature helps you quickly prioritize urgent issues or opportunities without manually digging through your data.

Each insight includes a brief description and a tailored call to action (CTA), such as View Report or View Insight, to help you take immediate action. To ensure the content remains relevant, you can provide feedback using the thumbs-up Thumbs up or thumbs-down Thumbs down icons or collapse the section.

Generated insights in your detail reports

In addition to the insights presented on the Google Analytics Home page, Google Analytics also surfaces generated insights in your detail reports. The generated insights help you make faster, more informed decisions by summarizing trends and significant changes in your data in plain language.

These generated insights are now located at the top of the detail report you are checking and will also include a call to action button that will modify the report based on the insight given.

Example

Imagine your purchase events spiked on a series of individual dates. Google's AI works through countless combinations of dimensions and metrics to proactively connect the dots, explaining why these spikes happened. These insights are written in a natural, easy-to-understand way.

Google Analytics 'Events' UI with an insight card highlighting a doubled 'purchase' event spike on April 10th, driven by specific demographics. It includes buttons to 'View key drivers' and 'View Ecommerce purchase reports'.

If Google Analytics surfaces a generated insight useful to you in a detail report, you can indicate it was helpful. Use the thumbs-up Thumbs up icon in the top right of the insight. If Google Analytics surfaces a generated insight that isn't relevant, you can provide negative feedback by clicking the thumbs-down Thumbs down icon. To dismiss the insight banner entirely, use the close button located in the top right corner of the banner. Based on your feedback, Google Analytics can better curate generated insights for you in the future.
