The Google Ads policy on alcohol will change around April 23, 2013. Google will continue to accept advertising for alcoholic beverages, including wine, beer, and spirits. With the upcoming policy change, certain geographic restrictions will be implemented based upon whether the ad promotes an alcohol beverage or promotes the online sale of alcohol.

After the new policy goes into effect, the policy description will be updated to reflect this change.
