Google is updating its verification process for advertisers promoting debt services in Australia, Brazil, Germany, Ireland, South Korea, and Spain.
Effective June 2, 2025, debt services will be moved into scope for the Financial Services verification program in these locations. This means that advertisers offering debt services targeting Australia, Brazil, Germany, Ireland, South Korea, and Spain will now be required to complete our comprehensive Financial Services verification. This update streamlines the process by integrating debt services verification into the broader Financial Services verification framework, replacing the previous separate debt services certification.
It is important to note that this change pertains to the verification mechanism itself and does not introduce new policy restrictions on the advertising of debt services in these countries. Advertisers currently certified by Google for debt services in these locations will not be impacted by this change and do not need to re-verify. Advertisers must continue to comply with all applicable local regulations and Google's existing Financial products and services policy.
