Keywords are words or phrases that are used to match your ads with the terms people are searching for or with the content that is relevant to your ad. Advertisers must be certified in order to target prescription drug keywords, and requirements vary by location.
Why are my ads labeled “Restricted Medical Content”?
Under the Healthcare and medicines policy, there are restrictions on the targeting of some keywords, like those containing prescription drug terms. Certain businesses, like online pharmacies and telemedicine providers, may target prescription drug keywords with certification.
To understand whether you can target prescription drug keywords and how to comply with certification requirements, read the Restricted drug terms policy and check the location-specific restrictions for every location where you plan to advertise. The "Restricted Medical Content" label indicates that your ad may be eligible to target prescription drug keywords, as long as targeting is allowed in your location and you’re certified. If your ads are not related to healthcare or you think we’ve made an error, you can appeal.
