Accessing advertiser verification
Monitoring your status ensures that your account remains compliant and your ads continue to serve without interruption.
To start or check the status of your advertiser verification:
Expand the 'Policy' drop-down under Admin and select Account.
Info is inconsistent or doesn’t match your Google Ads account
The information submitted in your verification form is inconsistent with your documents or the information in your Google Ads account. Some common reasons for rejection include:
- Name mismatches:
- The organisation name submitted doesn’t exactly match the full legal name on the business registration document, including any suffixes or punctuation.
- The individual’s name submitted doesn’t exactly match the name on the government-issued photo ID.
- Address mismatches: The address on your account doesn’t align with the address on your submitted documents.
- Website issues: The website provided is invalid or not associated with your Google Ads account.
Not enough info about business relationships associated with your account
When you submitted the verification form, you either indicated that your company has relationships with other businesses, or a relationship was identified as part of the review but you did not provide sufficient information to help us validate this relationship. This includes any third parties mentioned on your website or involved in your business operations.
When completing the verification form, include details on all relationships involved in the value chain. This can include, but is not limited to:
- Marketing agencies accessing the Google Ads account.
- End service provider, if different.
- Domain owner, if different.
- Other parties that may be involved with the Google Ads account (i.e logging in to the Google Ads account).
Additionally, we will need information to validate each relationship. Submit relevant documentation such as but not limited to:
- Documentation establishing proof of relationship with other brands or parties involved, such as an official agreement or contract
- A document explaining the business relationship or brand owner on their company letterhead
- Other valid documentation, such as an invoice or email from the other company, that helps us validate your claims
If the above documents are unavailable, provide a unique identifier and verification website where the relationship can be confirmed. If a third party is mentioned on your website but isn’t part of a formal business relationship, you must either provide documentation explaining the connection or remove the mention from your website.
Not enough info about the provider of goods or services
The information you provided in the verification form was not sufficient for us to understand who is providing the products or services to the end customers.
For example: If you are a reseller and/or affiliate marketer, provide details of the business delivering goods and services to the end customer such as but not limited to:
- Name
- Contact details
- Documentation establishing proof of relationship with other brands or parties involved, such as an official agreement or contract.
Not enough documentation about your identity and licensing
When you submitted the verification form, you were asked to identify yourself as one of the following: an organisation, an individual or an unregistered business.
We ask that you provide additional documentation, depending on which of these you identified as, to validate your identity.
If you are an organisation, make sure that you provide documentation such as:
- Business registration/Governmental registrations.
- Licences needed to run the business if you are in a vertical that requires businesses to be registered, such as healthcare, car hire or finance.
If you are an individual or an unregistered business, provide documentation as outlined in the Verification form.
Issues with submitted documents
Make sure that the submitted documentation meets the criteria below:
- Accepted formats: Submit original photos or scans of physical documents. Accepted file types are PDF, JPG, JPEG or PNG.
- Clarity: Ensure that all details (name, address, issue date, expiry date) are clearly visible and legible, without glare or blurred text.
- Timeliness: For proof of address documents, for example, utility bills, bank statements, they must typically be issued within the last 90 days.
- Colour: Documents are uploaded in colour if the original document is in colour.
- Completeness: All pages of the document are provided, signed and dated where applicable.
The following are not accepted as part of the verification process:
- Screenshots and digital IDs: These are generally not accepted. You must provide photos or scans of physical documents.
- Zipped documents or links to folders.
- Illegible or blurred documents.
- Screenshots of web pages.
Couldn’t verify your identity or business operations

- The submitted organisation name does not match exactly the organisation name in the submitted registration document.
- The submitted name does not match exactly the name on the submitted government-issued photo ID.
- The disclosure name mentioned in the verification form does not match the name on your Google Ads account.
- The country in the payments profile does not match the country of the submitted registration document and/or government-issued ID.
- Your business operates in a regulated industry, such as healthcare or home services, but you didn’t provide the required local or state licences.
- The documents submitted don't clearly establish whether you are an individual, an organisation or an unregistered business. Make sure that your submission consistently reflects your correct legal status.
