Clarifying AdSense Account Types [AdSense Pro Post]
Dear community,
We’ve noticed that the exact differences between the Individual and Business account types may be unclear to some. We hope that this post will help you decide which best applies to your AdSense needs.
What account types can I pick from?
- AdSense offers two account types: Business and Individual. There are no differences in the services or payment structure between Individual and Business accounts. Business account payments will be made payable to the Company Name, while Individual accounts are paid out to the Payee Name of the account holder.
- Take a look at our guide on how to check your AdSense Account Type.
- You cannot change your account type once it’s been selected! You will have to close the account and make a new one!
What else should I consider when picking Individual or Business?
- Your account type will determine your payee name.
- For Business accounts, the first line in your payment information should be the business name and the second line should be the name of a contact person for the business.
- For Individual accounts, your payee name will be your full legal name as it appears on your ID.
- Your account type will affect your account verification.
- You will be asked for proof of identity when creating your account. See this pinned post on the subject and this Help Center article with the documents we accept as proof of identity.
- If you choose a Business account, you will eventually need to provide official documentation showing proof of your business’ existence. If you do not have an official registered business please select Individual as your account type. It’s tempting to select Business if this is how you make a living, but unless it is an officially registered business you might not be able to verify your identity which will render your account unusable.
- If you have a Business account, you can add other users to your payments profile. Publishers with Individual accounts can't invite people to join or manage their payment profiles.
- The Rapida payment option is only available if you have an individual account and are located in certain locations.
