For AdSense for Content ads, you can control your Auto optimize settings at the site level. To turn on Auto optimize for one of your sites, follow the steps below.
- Sign in to your AdSense account.
- Click Ads.
- In the table of all your sites, click Edit
next to the site for which you want to turn on Auto optimize. Your site opens in the "Ad settings preview".
- Click Auto optimize.
Note: AdSense doesn't show a preview of your site when you select the Auto optimize tab.
- In the "Auto optimize" section, turn on Auto optimize. Google will automatically run experiments on your formats and settings.
- Select the Auto-apply experiment winner checkbox, if you want Google to automatically apply the experiment winner for you.
- Click Apply to site.

Choose your save option:
- Click Apply now, then Save, to immediately apply your Auto ads settings to your site.
Or
- Click Run experiment first, then Run experiment, to test your Auto ads settings.
AdSense will run an experiment on 50% of your site's traffic for 90 days. The experiment will finish when we've collected enough data. Learn more about Auto ads experiments.
Note: Testing your ad settings won't impact your Auto optimize changes. - Click Apply now, then Save, to immediately apply your Auto ads settings to your site.
Notifications
You'll see a notification in your account when Auto optimize starts running an experiment. You'll receive an email every time an experiment finishes and there's a decision required from you. Or, if you've allowed Google to apply experiment winners for you, you'll be notified of the changes that have been applied. Learn how to change your email preferences.
