New Google optimized refresh rates for mobile app ads

Google Ad Manager has introduced new options for refresh rate controls for mobile app inventory. When configuring refresh rates in your ad unit settings, you can now select the new Google optimized option. This setting applies a Google-calculated refresh model designed to optimize performance and maximize ad revenue for users on a single screen.

Google recommends testing the Google optimized setting for optimal performance. In addition to this new feature, publishers can still choose to use a Custom refresh rate by entering a fixed interval between 30 and 120 seconds, or select "Disabled" to stop ads from refreshing automatically.

Deprecation: Remarketing and interest based ads for non-Google demand

To align our controls with corresponding fields in OpenRTB, the "Remarketing" and "Interest-based category cookies" controls for non-Google demand in Protections are now deprecated. Removing these controls also removes the ID redaction behavior currently tied to them. We expect impact to be limited, and encourage you to use ads personalization settings for any serving restrictions. Note that the network-level Google Demand control for "Remarketing" will remain for now.

Coming soon

Small Business networks to enable Data Transfer via Advanced Features
Starting July 13, Data Transfer can be activated via Advanced features by Ad Manager Small Business networks with an active billing setup. This optional premium feature allows publishers to access event-level data for precise, multi-dimensional analysis of campaign performance. To gain access, users with admin roles can review and accept the contracting terms and pricing structure through the Advanced features section of Ad Manager. To learn more, visit Explore Data Transfer reports and Turn on Advanced Features.
