The Ad review center shows you ads that have recently appeared on your site or app over the last 30 days. When you click an ad in the Ad review center (ARC), the ad detail view shows a full size preview of the ad, along with detailed information. Occasionally, a preview for an ad is missing or appears blank.
This article explains some typical reasons why an ad preview may be missing, and how you can report one.
Appearance in the ARC
A missing ad preview may appear in the ARC as shown in the following image. Note the option in the top-right corner to report a missing preview.
Understand missing previews
There are several reasons why an ad preview may not show in the ARC:
- Campaign expiration: Campaigns that have expired and are no longer serving ads may contain creatives that are no longer available.
- Reduced creative retention: Advertisers may have set a retention period of less than 30 days for their creatives, which means they’ll be unavailable in the Ad review center after a specified amount of time. Additionally, some buyers may have implemented a 72-hour Time-To-Live (TTL) on their video creatives after the last bid. After this period, the video creative becomes unavailable.
- HTML or JavaScript errors: Technical issues in the HTML or JavaScript code of creatives can cause them to fail.
- Codecs: Incompatibility between video codecs and supported ARC formats can result in missing previews.
- Security issues: Security restrictions, such as Cross-Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) issues, can prevent creatives from loading.
