Requirements

  • A desktop or laptop computer
  • Chrome browser (other major browsers also support capturing web session traffic)

Using Google Chrome

Chrome's DevTools can capture all traffic and save it to a HAR file. Here's how to extract the HAR file in Chrome:

  1. Right-click in the browser window or tab, and select Inspect.
  2. Click the Network tab in the panel that appears.
  3. Start capturing HTTP traffic by clicking  Reload this page  ("Reload this page") to reproduce your issue.
  4. Click the download button Download . When you hover over the download button, the words "Export HAR" display.
  5. Name the file.
  6. Click Save.
Note: Content for all requests on the page are saved in the same HAR file.
