To stop using Google Voice at your organization, cancel your Voice subscription. Because you’re billed on a monthly flexible subscription plan, canceling your subscription immediately stops further billing for Voice services.
Canceling your subscription terminates all your Voice licenses. You can cancel Voice and keep your other subscriptions active, such as Google Workspace.
Before you cancel
- Save user data—After you cancel, users have access to their Voice data, but they won't be able to use Voice features. User data is automatically deleted when you delete user accounts. The easiest way to download and export your users' data is with the Data Export tool.
- Save billing records—After you cancel your Voice account, you cannot access your billing records (unless you still have an active Workspace subscription). Before you cancel, download any invoices or billing records. For details, go to Access your billing accounts.
- Port out numbers—Port out your Voice phone numbers to another service provider. For details, go to Port out Voice numbers.

Downgrades from Voice Starter standalone
You can downgrade your Voice Starter standalone (not add-on) subscription to a free Voice account. To downgrade, cancel your Voice Starter standalone subscription and you're automatically downgraded to a free Voice account. Once your subscription is downgraded, you no longer have access to the Admin console, unless you have a Google Workspace subscription.
After the downgrade, your existing Voice data is not deleted and remains accessible to you. Your phone number is unassigned from your account, but remains exclusively available for you to reclaim for 90 days. After the downgrade, go to your Voice settings and click Get a number to reclaim the number.
