Selected wrong billing country

Applies to editions of Google Workspace and other paid subscriptions in your Google Admin console.

If you select the wrong country for your Google billing account, you might be able to change the country.

During billing setup, go back & select the right country

If you’re setting up billing for your first subscription and selected the wrong billing country, you can:

  1. In the setup window, click Back.
  2. Select the correct country.

Alternatively, you can restart billing for Google Workspace, Essentials, or Cloud Identity Premium and choose the correct country.

If you’re signing up for an additional subscription, you don’t choose a billing country. We use the one associated with your billing account. If you want to change the billing country, the change affects all your subscriptions. Follow the information in After setup (later on this page).

After setup

After setting up your billing account, you can’t change your billing country in the Google Admin console. The support team might be able to help you change your billing country. Approval of the change is solely at Google’s discretion.

Before you contact support, review these requirements and restrictions for changing your billing country:

  • Your subscription price might change based on the new country, and any pricing discounts you’re receiving might be removed.
  • You can’t change the billing country for a domain registration subscription. You can, however, cancel the domain subscription and purchase it again to register it in the correct country.
  • If you’re on the Annual/Fixed-Term Plan, you can’t switch billing countries until your renewal date and you must renew to the Flexible Plan. Before that date, you need to change your renewal setting to Switch to the flexible payment plan. For details, go to Switch from Annual/Fixed-Term to Flexible Plan.
  • You must send us proof of a business or residence address in the new country, such as a copy of your tax certificate.
  • You need to pay any outstanding balances due. You can make this payment before or after your billing country change is approved.
