Before you begin, make sure your source and destination environments meet the following system requirements for Google Workspace Domain Transfer Divestiture.
Source
The source environment:
- Must have users on a supported Google Workspace primary license and no more than 75,000 users.
- Can't use advanced mobile management for Android devices as part of Google endpoint management.
You must downgrade to basic mobile device management or to turn it off.
- Can't have client-side encryption (CSE) turned on. CSE uses your own encryption keys to protect your organization's data, instead of using the encryption that Google Workspace provides.
Additionally, if Google Voice was ever used, you must take steps to proceed with a domain transfer. For details, go to the "Google Voice" section in Source licenses.
Destination
- Must have a minimum of 5 users on a supported Google Workspace primary license.
- Cannot be in a trial period.
- Can't exceed the maximum number of domains and domain aliases after the domain transfer process completes.

- Can't exceed a maximum of 500,000 users after the domain transfer process completes.
Both source & destination
Both environments can't be in the process of undergoing the Service Wipeout Process (SWP). Google verifies this before starting the domain transfer process.
Important: While you should verify the requirements above, the Domain Transfer team also validates this information before the transfer process begins. If there are any remediations required, they are presented to you and action must be taken before the transfer can proceed.
