This article is for organization admins to help prepare their users for the launch of Dynamic layouts, Dynamic tiles, and Face match.
Google Meet has a new layout for laptops, desktops, and meeting room hardware that makes hybrid meetings better. You’ll notice improvements in how screen space is used and how all participants are represented.
Dynamic layouts: What’s new
- Portrait tiles—Based on the size of the user's window and the number of participants in the call, video feeds may now appear in the grid as portrait tiles.
- Dynamic tiles—If your room has Google Meet hardware, Dynamic tiles gives up to 3 people their own video tile, so everyone is easier to see.
- Face match—If a Meet hardware device has Dynamic tiles on and in-room participants are using companion mode, they can identify themselves so their video tiles display their names instead of the room name. The model is capable of face detection only, not face recognition.
- Flexible self-view—You have more options for how you see participants in a meeting layout.
- Automatic framing—Ensures that participants are in frame in meetings.
