Assign Google Workspace with Gemini licenses
After you add Google Workspace with Gemini to your account, you need to assign licenses to users.
Before you begin
- A user's preferred language affects Google Workspace with Gemini availability:
- All Google Workspace with Gemini features are available to users who have set their language to English. Additionally, Gemini in Gmail and Google Docs now accepts Spanish and Portuguese prompts and will respond in those languages.
- Gemini in Gmail and Google Docs is also available to users who have set their language to Spanish or Portuguese. However, they can't use Gemini in Sheets, Slides, and Meet.
- Google Workspace with Gemini is unavailable to users under age 18. Don't assign licenses to these users.
- It may take up to 24 hours for a user’s license to be assigned.

The Gemini app as a core service with enterprise-grade data protections is available with most Google Workspace editions:

Users who access the Gemini app through one of these editions are subject to the Google Workspace Terms of Service or your offline Workspace agreement, as applicable. Gemini Advanced includes everything in the Gemini app with enterprise-grade data protections as well as priority access to new features and access to Google’s most capable AI models. See comparison below for more detail.
* To get the Gemini mobile app with a Business edition, you must sign up with a business email address or verify your domain.
As an additional Google Service
Users without a qualifying Google Workspace edition are subject to the Google Terms of Service and the Gemini Apps Privacy Notice when they use the Gemini app. Their chats may be reviewed by human reviewers and used to improve Google’s products, services, and machine-learning technologies. Tell these users to avoid entering confidential or sensitive information when using the Gemini app.
